Speaking about the proposed flag, “Its purpose is not, however, limited to space travel. Pernefeldt believes it could also be used here on Earth, to remind us that we are all of this one planet.”
Are we really concerned about how us earthlings might seem un-unified to aliens simply by placing a flag for a specific individual country on Mars?
What happens if they were to tap into our radio waves and listen to the news?
Francis Crick, who co-founded DNA, talks about the near impossibility of Aliens reaching our planet, if they actually exist in his book “Life Itself.”
Regarding the space travel of potential aliens Dr. Crick proposes some interesting thoughts.
It is almost impossible to estimate distances in empty space.
Pretend you are on a spaceship which is traveling at 1800 miles per second.
At this speed you could go from NY to Europe in about 3 seconds, two minutes to reach the moon, 15 minutes to reach the sun.
Then Dr. Crick writes, to reach the neares star would take us 430 years or to cross our own galaxy would take us 10 million years!
We are so willing to want to appear unified to potential Aliens but are so how about our consideration toward that which we have so much evidence for.
“Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.” Isa. 40:26 NIV
