GoPro cameras have become the hottest thing since digital cameras were invented. People all over the world are capturing some breathtaking footage and doing it in some incredible places. There are people who ski, skateboard, sky dive, high dive, swim, fly and hunt in some of the most beautiful, most remote, most dangerous and most amazing places on the planet.
I am routinely amazed at the ingenuity and creativity (and sometimes stupidity) of the people engaging in these stunning feats of adrenaline pumping adventure. They seem to thrive on the rush they get as they whiz around over rough terrain performing superhuman feats as if they’re commonplace. And we get to see it all! We get to share in their thrill just by watching them do these crazy things. On display is the heart of humanity desiring to push life to the limit and live life to the fullest, past the boundaries that us mortals deem normal.
The human spirit and it’s desire to conquer new territory astonishes me. Thank you GoPro for giving us the opportunity to see things from a perspective we would never get to see except for their cool cameras!
Watching these videos gives us a front row seat into the fearless and lets us participate in things we would never dare to do in real life; we get to live vicariously through them. This new capability fuels our creativity and push the limits of excitement while at the same time it finds us rooting for our fellow man to take it to the next level.
What an unintended achievement GoPro has accomplished in making this possible. Our perspective has changed as we see others doing things we may never get to do, and in my case, never want to do! It’s funny how a small camera has altered our perception of the impossible. I wonder if it can change our perception of how we view the more essential things in life? I think it can.

Today we have the technology to view unborn children in the womb with the use of ultrasound technology. As we can see the development of a child in it’s mother’s womb, we are taken back by the miracle of childbirth. There is a sense of awe and wonder in the process from conception to birth.
Much like the GoPro videos, these images give us a front row seat into the miraculous. Everyone who sees a child in the womb is amazed at it’s development. We instinctively realize – this is a person.
This is MY child! It is amazing what a picture can do to your perception.
Pictures have a way of transporting us into a different frame of mind. This is statistically true of ultrasound technology. Over 80% of women who get ultrasounds choose not to abort their children. Showing a picture of an unborn child to it’s mother awakens the deep bond that is exists between parent and child.
It changes your perception. No longer is this fetus an inconvenience that I have to deal with, but a child that I get to bring into the world. Once you view the picture front and center, it bceomes obvious: this is an innocent, precious child that I can’t abort.
You feel a sense of awe and wonder as you get a glimpse into the womb and view the miracle of life. Every woman, and man, should see their child before they go through with an abortion. I think it will change their perception for the better.
Thank you to the people who gave us ultrasound technology. It’s like we have a GoPro for the unborn, only I say GoPro-Life!
